Common questions
What is Bandfolk?
An app where working musicians post short clips of themselves playing, browse other players and match in order to collaborate. The idea is that you hear how someone sounds before either of you gets in touch.
Is it a dating app?
No. Bandfolk is for professional collaboration between musicians. Romantic or sexual approaches are prohibited by the terms of service and lead to suspension.
What does it cost?
99 SEK per month in Sweden. The App Store or Google Play shows the price for your own country, in your own currency, before you buy. The subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel it.
How do I cancel my subscription?
On iPhone and iPad: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Bandfolk, Cancel subscription. On Android: Google Play, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions, Bandfolk, Cancel.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and you keep your access until then.
How do I delete my account?
In the app under Settings, Account, Delete account, or by emailing us. It is all set out on the delete account and data page. Remember to cancel the subscription separately in the store.
Why do I have to post video?
Because that is the whole idea. A list of credits does not tell you how someone plays. A short clip does it in ten seconds, and that works both ways.
Who can see my clips?
Other Bandfolk users. The clips are not public on the web and we do not post them anywhere else. There is more in the privacy policy.
How do I report someone?
Use the report function on the profile or the clip in the app, or email support@it-guy.io. We review reports of objectionable content within 24 hours. You can also block a user directly.
Where is the app available?
Bandfolk launches in Sweden and opens in Norway, Denmark and Finland after that. The app has not been released in the App Store or Google Play yet.
How do I get a copy of my data?
Email support@it-guy.io from your registered address and ask for a copy of your data. You will have a reply within one month. See the privacy policy.
