For working musicians in the Nordics

Hear someone play before you say hello

Bandfolk is a video-first matching app for musicians who make a living from their instrument. Post short clips of yourself actually playing, browse other players and match with the ones you want to work with. This is professional networking, not dating.

01

Who it is for

Bandfolk is built for people who already play for real: on stage, in the studio, on tour, or in a church hall on a Saturday morning. The playing is right there in the clip, so nobody has to guess from a list of credits.

Freelance instrumentalists

You dep, you double, you step in at short notice. Bandfolk lets more people hear how you sound before they call.

Bands looking for a member

The drummer quit three weeks before the tour. Search by instrument, genre and city, and hear the candidates play straight away.

Session and live players

Session work is booked on sound and reliability. One clip says more about both than a paragraph of credits.

Producers and composers

You need a violin, a double bass or a singer with the right colour for a session next week.

02

How it works

  1. Post your playing

Record or upload short clips of yourself playing. No stills, no claims, just sound and picture.

  2. Browse other players

Filter by instrument, genre and city. Watch, listen, swipe past or show interest.

  3. Match

When the interest is mutual you get a match. Nobody can contact you until you have said yes.

  4. Get in touch and play

Where it goes from there is up to you: a rehearsal, a session, or a full tour.

03

What it costs

The subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings, and the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
